PRACTICE MANAGER (SHORT TERM INSURANCE COMMERCIAL AND PERSONAL LINES) – GEORGE, WESTERN CAPE


A prominent financial services provider has an exciting career opportunity available for an experienced SHORT TERM INSURANCE PRACTICE MANAGER – COMMERCIAL AND PERSONAL LINES, to join their dynamic team in the city of GEORGE, WESTERN CAPE

This is a permanent position and office based, which offers a market related salary, including company benefits.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Minimum matric with a tertiary qualification advantageous.

  • Minimum 15 years’ applicable working experience within the short-term insurance industry.

  • Minimum 10 years’ proven operational experience in short terms commercial and personal lines, successfully managing a team of underwriters and claims administrators. 

  • Santam Policy Centre approved user is a requirement.

  • Excellent third-party relationship building abilities with a proven track record of such relationships.

  • Excellent knowledge of commercial lines policy wording, such as Mutlimark III.

  • Relevant financial certification per RE5 qualification, and 120 relevant credits are essential to the role. 

  • A qualified Key Individual with the associated certifications would be highly advantageous.

  • Report writing skills with well-developed strategic planning and management insight. 

  • Proven experience and knowledge of insurance corporate management systems.

  • Fully bi-lingual and eloquent in Afrikaans and English: speak read and write.

  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, being solutions-driven.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Tenacious and driven, with the ability to multi-task.

  • The ability to successfully manage and motivate staff, enabling employees to reach their full potential. 

  • Computer literate in the full MS Office programme. 

  • Compliant with the ability to successfully work under pressure.

  • Well-developed change-management abilities.

  • Trustworthy and ethical with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Professional and well-presented.

  • Valid drivers’ license with own reliable transport.
